Dora Mae (Zieser) Coleman, age 94, died Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Linn Manor Care Center in Marion.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Urbana with Rev Jim Brokman as Celebrant. Interment will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Urbana. A Vigil service will be held at 4:00 PM, Monday, at the church in Urbana followed by visitation from 4:30 until 7:00 PM. Phillips Funeral Home in Vinton is in charge of arrangements.

Dora Mae was born on June 29, 1928, in rural Urbana, the daughter of Herman and Mary (Kleitsch) Zieser. On September 26, 1950, she was united in marriage to Duane Joseph Coleman at Spencer's Grove Catholic Church near Urbana.

Dora Mae was an accomplished homemaker, she also worked as a cook and volunteer at St. Luke's Hospital. She also worked as a bus aid with her husband Duane at the Braille School in Vinton. Dora Mae was a great cook, with her specialty being noodles and pies. She also loved her flowers, gardening, and quilting. She and Duane loved to play cards in various card clubs through the years.

She is survived by her sons, David (Tamara) Coleman of Urbana, Mike (Stephanie) Coleman, of Oxford; 2 daughters, Carol (John) DePaepe of Cedar Rapids, Judy (Dean) Darling of Marion; son-in-law Michael Barrett of Gilbert, AZ; 10 grandchildren, Robert Coleman of Urbana, Ryan (Kendra) Coleman of Urbana, Rebecca (Jordan Hansen) of Center Point, Kellie (Alex) Logan of Peoria, AZ, Krista (Corey) Murphy of San Diego, CA, Andrew (Kayla) DePaepe of Marion, Matthew DePaepe of Cedar Rapids, Bethany Darling of Marion, Danielle (Travis) Wiegand of Urbana, Eli Coleman of Oxford; 8 great-grandchildren, Emersen, Ainsley, Hank, Kenzeth, Liam, Alanya, Grayson, and Hadley Mae; her brother Clifford (Betty) Zieser of Independence; sisters-in-law, Delores Zieser of Cedar Rapids, and Janine Coleman of Grundy Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Duane in 1992; daughter Marlys Barrett; 3 brothers, Don, Carl, and Robert Zieser; and 3 sisters, Edna Takes, Pauline Hosch, and Eleanor Hosch.
