Lois Louise Toney, 82, of Belle Plaine, IA passed away Saturday, May 7, 2022, at home surrounded by family.

Services are 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at Hrabak-Neuhaus Funeral Service, Belle Plaine with Russ Spading officiating. Please join the family for a celebration of life following the service at approximately 7 p.m. at the Belle Plaine American Legion. Burial will be at Irving Cemetery, Irving, IA at a later date.

Visitation is 3-6 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.neuhausfuneralservice.com.

Lois was born into a family of 9 children, December 3, 1939, in Luzerne, IA to Albert and Mary (Peterman) Kuester. She attended Belle Plaine High School. November 8, 1958, Lois married David A. Toney, in Ladora, IA. Together the couple lived in Luzerne before moving to their farm in Belle Plaine where they raised their 6 children. Lois worked as a housewife, when the kids grew older, she became a CNA at Belle Plaine Care Center where she worked for 15 years.

Lois enjoyed gardening, canning, and mowing lawn. She loved being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and cooking, making meals to order for the grandkids.

She is survived by her children, Teresa Toney of Cedar Rapids, David Jr. of Belle Plaine, Rod (Tracy) Toney, of Keystone, Annette (Greg Walton) Toney of Belle Plaine, Laurie (Rory Sr.) Kelly of Cedar Rapids, and Denise (Tony Kasal) Staker of Tama; grandchildren, Brittany (Ryan) Hendershot, Rory Kelly Jr., Megan Toney, Brooke Wright, Blake St. John, Dylan Staker, Jordan Staker; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Trystan, Wyatt, Noah, Drake, Alexis; with many more loving family and friends.

Lois is preceded in death by her parents, husband David Toney; brothers, and sisters.
