Nadine Jean Weed, 93, of Louisville, Ky., formerly of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Dec. 27, 2021, at her home. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2022, at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow the visitation and begin at 11 a.m. that will honor the life of Nadine and her son Brian Weed, who passed away in 2016.

Nadine was born July 18, 1928, in Atkins, Iowa, to William and Iva May (Swanson) Simmer. She married Ira S. Weed in 1951. He died in 1974. She worked at Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, until retiring and moving to Louisville, Ky., in 2000. She loved being with family, working in her yard, and caring for her pets.

Nadine is survived by her children, Gary (Susan) Weed and Greg (Lory) Weed; grandchildren, Kelly (Weed) Severson and Christopher Weed; great-grandchild, Samantha Severson; and Nadine's sister, Evelyn Stumph.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira; Beloved Son, Brian Weed; her parents; and her siblings, Reinhold Simmer, Iva Fishel, and Dorse Hirsch.
