Clarence Wayne Blanchard, 76, of Vinton, Iowa, formerly of Central City, Iowa, died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2021, at his home after a courageous 16-year battle with cancer. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is assisting the family.

Clarence was born on Nov. 23, 1944, in Central City, the son of W. Clarence and Marian (Bickford) Blanchard. He graduated from Central City High School. Clarence served in the U.S. Navy from 1962-66 during the Vietnam War. Clarence enjoyed fishing, the outdoors and helping people. He loved spending time with his family.

Survivors include his daughter, Tammy (Kevin) Smith of Afton, Iowa, Carey Blanchard of Vinton and Scott Blanchard (John Selk) of Cedar Rapids; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Carol Blanchard of Cedar Rapids, Linda Brown and Lori (Glenn) Wickman, all of Central City; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Marian Blanchard; and sister, Lillian Blanchard.
