Kenneth J. Krug, 86, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at Unity Point St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, March 29, 2021 at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in Atkins, with Rev. Doug Woltemath officiating. Interment will be in St. Stephen's Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 7:00 PM, Sunday at the St. Stephen's Church fellowship hall in Atkins. The wearing of masks and social distancing will be practiced at the visitation and service. A memorial fund has been established.

Ken was born, October 22, 1934 on the family farm near Atkins, Iowa to George and Emma (Daleske) Krug. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Stephens Lutheran Church in rural Atkins and graduated from Atkins High School in 1952. He served his Country in the Army Reserves for 6 years.

Ken married Ann McClintock on September 16, 1956 at First Presbyterian Church in Cedar Rapids. Ken farmed his entire life in the Atkins area. He was a lifelong member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, where he served as an elder and was a member of the cemetery board. Ken was active in his community and served as a board member and president of the Atkins Telephone Company. Ken and Ann enjoyed playing cards in a number of card clubs throughout their married life. In his spare time, Ken enjoyed watching baseball and basketball on television. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ann; son Stephen (Rhonda) Krug of Atkins; daughter Julie Krug of Cedar Rapids; 5 grandchildren, Allysha Garthright, Shaun (Caitie) Krug, Christian Krug, Owen Krug, Megan Krug; and 2 great-grandchildren, Karlie and Leo Krug.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Donald Krug.
