With flags fluttering in the spring breeze and flowers carefully placed beside weathered headstones, Vinton area students and residents once again came together to prepare local cemeteries for Memorial Day weekend.

From students carrying small American flags to adults quietly stopping to pay their respects, the annual tradition served as a reminder that even the smallest acts of kindness help keep the memories of our nation’s heroes alive.

As families visit cemeteries this weekend, the decorated graves stand as a heartfelt tribute from a community that continues to remember and honor those who served.
