On Wednesday, January 21st, seniors Ben Buhr and Braedon Hepker attended the FFA Legislative Symposium with chaperone Chad Newton.
The event gave members a chance to learn more about how agriculture connects to leadership and decision-making at the state level. During the symposium, members learned why it’s important for people involved in agriculture to speak up, stay informed, and share their experiences.
The Legislative Symposium also allowed members to meet with their representatives at the state capital building to learn more about their day-to-day activities. By attending the symposium, Ben Buhr and Braedon Hepker gained new perspectives they can bring back to the Vinton-Shellsburg FFA Chapter. Experiences like this help members grow as leaders and better understand the role agriculture plays in everyday life.
