News : FFA Soils Judging: District and State

Wyatt Shaver, Will Kruetner, Braedon Hepker, Jameson Demuth, Ben Buhr, Will McKenna, Kassidi Brunssen, Kenzie Rhinehart, Kirsten Pettit, June Bodeker, and Madeline Pingenot all participated in District Soils Judging. 

Braedon Hepker, Jameson Demuth, Will McKenna, and Ben Buhr earned fourth place team at the district level.

Madeline Pingenot, June Bodeker, Wyatt Shaver, and Will Kreutner earned 8th place at the district level.

Members of the Vinton-Shellsburg FFA Chapter participated in the Soils Evaluation Career Development Event at both the district and state levels.

At the district contest on September 24th, members identified soil textures and horizons, evaluated soil characteristics, and determined land capability, building a strong foundation in soil science.

Members Braedon Hepker, Jameson Demuth, Will McKenna, and Ben Buhr who advanced to the state competition, completed more detailed soil evaluations and applied their knowledge to real-world land use decisions.

The state team received a Silver ranking. Congrats to these members for investing in their skills.
