On Wednesday, February 23rd, The Vinton-Shellsburg FFA Chapter competed in the Sub-District LDE Contests that were held at Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo, Iowa. The chapter had 35 members that went and participated in numerous contests and quizzes. These members have been practicing for many hours on end so that they can be successful in their contests. Here are the events and the results of the contests: 

• Creed Speaking - Elenor Moen (4th Gold-Alternate to Districts)

• Conduct of Meetings - Jackson Hansel, Levi Lutz, Callie Nosbisch, Kassidi Brunssen, Ali Lutz, Leif Allen, Ciara Dods (2nd Gold) 

• Parliamentary Procedure - Izzie Birker, Alana Fleming, Megan Schlitter, Ben McGowan, Andrew Allsup, Cooper McClintock, Wes McKenna (1st Gold - Advance to Districts)

• Ag Broadcasting - Jazmyn Dods (2nd Gold- Advance to Districts)

• Job Interview - Grayce McClintock (Gold)

• Prepared Public Speaking - Andrew Pingenot (3rd Gold-Alternate to Districts)

• Ag Sales - Ben Buhr (1st Gold - Advance to Districts)

• Extemporaneous Speaking - Kelcie Appleby (2nd Gold - Advance to Districts)

• Chapter Program - Brody Waters, Juliana Luis, Will McKenna (1st Gold- Advancing to Districts)
