After closing arguments at approximately 11:00 a.m. on Friday, the jury reached a vedict by 1:30 p.m.
In the murder trial of Tacoa Talley concerning the death of Jodie Bevans, the jury found Talley guilty of first degree murder. Sentencing will be held on June 2nd at 1:30 p.m.
The state began by presenting its closing arguments recapping the details of the case. Beginning with the Snapchat video of both Talley and Samantha Bevans admitting to the murder, the prosecutor went back through the case against Talley.
He explained to the jury that Jodie Bevans a former MP in the Air Force stood at six foot tall, and at one point had had to defend herself against Samantha, and was able to do so by throwing Samantha off of her. The state's case indicated that Jodie would have had to have been restrained by both in order for her to have been suffocated. Along with testimony in the case and technology to back it up the state made a strong case against Talley.
The defense tried to make a case with a lack of DNA evidence or fingerprints citing TV crime shows that use DNA all the time, they said to solve cases. They pointed out that testimony put the Snapchat video at Motel 6 and disputed the actual location of where the video was taken. The defense then asked why Talley, whom they said had just gotten out of jail the day before, would have had the motive to kill Jodie the next day.
A look at Talley's court records show that the 30-year-old man has been in trouble with the law, at least since he was 19. Juvenile records if there are any, are sealed to the public.

AF, if you followed everything you would know that he DID have a motive just not one that could really be used in court. He did it simple because his girlfriend, the mother of his children, wanted him to. That's it! So they got this one right!
