For those of us not on the northwest corner of town, it just seemed like a heavy rainstorm and nothing major. For those north and west of Windsor Manor in the trailer park down to the northern edge of town, it looks like a tornado hit. Unofficially of course.

Rick Primmer sent in a picture of one of his semis, laying on its side. Damage will be better assessed in the morning. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported...

Here are a few pictures from tonight (Saturday) and updated to include pictures from Sunday.

Update Sunday morning:

In other parts of the state there have been 6 deaths confirmed so far, 4 adults and 2 children, and others with injuries, please pray for those families.

It appears that in Vinton, the hardest-hit businesses would be TCC Materials, REC, Kerry and Primmer Trucking/P.A.M.S. Storage. The IMCA building had damage to the back and a building behind was damaged. REC, Kerry and TCC Materials suffered devastating damage. Secondary Roads or the County buildings in that area also received damage.

Every trailer in the trailer court suffered some kind of damage, some more severe than the others. A wood-built shed was turned on its side in the trailer court. Carports were moved enough to rip them up from the cement and bend them if they didn't, The trailers suffered roof, siding, skirting damage, and one appears to be severely damaged.

Across the street in Maplewood Cemetery there is quite a bit of tree damage, with damaged headstones there. What appears to have been a small building in the southwest corner of the cemetery was completely demolished.

The legion suffered damage on the roof.

There are no reported injuries or loss of life.
