A Vinton man has been charged with multiple offenses after an investigation by the Vinton Police Department into sexual abuse allegations involving two female victims that occurred between December 2014 and March 2015.

One of the victims was 13 years old when the abuse began and the second victim was 15 years old when the abuse began.

Kevin Joseph Wheeler, 22, of Vinton, was charged with the following:

1) two counts of Sexual Abuse in the Third Degree (Class C Felony), 2) two counts of Assault With Intent to Commit Sexual Abuse (Aggravated Misdemeanor), 3) one count of Indecent Contact With a Child (Aggravated Misdemeanor), 4) one count of Lascivious Acts With a Child (Class C Felony) 5) one count of Lascivious Conduct with a Minor (Serious Misdemeanor)

Wheeler is currently being held in the Benton County Jail on a $10,000 bond.

Wheeler has been a registered sex offender since he pleaded guilty to indecent contact with a child in April of 2012. He later pleaded guilty in September of 2014 to a sex offender registration violation; in that case, he was given a suspended two-year sentence and placed on two years' probation.

BT September 23, 2015, 3:02 pm Would like it if they also posted who the JUDGES were that gave him these past sentences. And who will he be in front of now. We are expected to vote for judges yet we NEVER see what cases and sentencing they are over. This should be a 3 strike rule - life in prison!!
