According to Amanda McKee with the LSI Healthy Families program, ¢â‚¬Å“Early screening is one way to ensure children are ready to learn and be on track for school readiness. It seems strange to think that what a 6-month-old is doing can impact that child at five but each day compounds. This event is a great opportunity for families to screen not only on hearing and vision but also communication, motor skills and social emotional development. If there is a delay, through early intervention we are able to connect the family with the services needed without them feeling overwhelmed and searching for services themselves. ¢â‚¬
This event is sponsored by: Benton County Family Nurturing Council, Benton County Public Health, Better Tomorrows Early Childhood Iowa, HACAP and LSI.
