Government : Shellsburg City Council Minutes 11-18-25

11-18-2025 a regular meeting of the Shellsburg City Council was called to order by Mayor Travis at 6:00pm in the Council Chambers.

Roll call was answered by Travis, Vogt, Reeves, Harvey, and Hepker.

Harvey motioned to approve the consent agenda, seconded by Hepker. A roll call vote was taken, all ayes.

There wasn't any public forum.

Council forum: Vogt gave an update on the school meetings and Harvey noted that the camera has been installed by the clerk's office and felt the sidewalk workshop was very productive.

Hepker motioned to approve Resolution #2025-11-18A, AURR, seconded by Harvey. A roll call vote was taken, all ayes.

The 2026 meeting dates were set.

Harvey motioned to approve Resolution #2025-11-18B, TIF Certification for the new development, seconded by Hepker. A roll call vote was taken, all ayes.

The resident complaints were discussed, and a possible Board of Adjustment meeting might need to be held for a variance decision.

The newly elected officials will be sworn in at the December 9th , 2025, meeting.

Travis motioned to approve Resolution #2025-11-18C, authorizing the internal advance for funding the new Urban Renewal Project, seconded by Hepker. A roll call vote was taken, all ayes.

Reeves motioned to adjourn, seconded by Vogt. All ayes.
