The family of Dan Flaugh, along with a variety of friends, is preparing to honor Dan's memory with the Third Annual Flaughless 5K. The event takes place at Riverside Park at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27.

A group of participants is planning to ruck the route, carrying 30-pound packs as a sign of respect for soldiers

The inaugural event in 2012 raised $10,000, while last year's event brought in $15,000 for the Wounded Warrior Project.
