If you love a story about a quirky, deeply dysfunctional family, I highly recommend ‘Lost Lambs’ by debut novelist Madeline Cash. Absurd, chaotic, and completely unpredictable, the novel takes us down a rabbit hole with the Flynn family. Catherine and Bud have opened their marriage, at Catherine’s suggestion, but neither of them is particularly comfortable in this arrangement. Their daughters, Abigail, Louise, and Parker, left to fend for themselves, find unique ways to engage their gifted, precocious, and often anti-social minds.

The story is full of dark humor reminiscent of ‘Arrested Development’ and ‘The Royal Tenenbaums,’ and I zipped through this gem and loved the ride. As one Goodreads reviewer quipped, “bottom line: more of this!”

‘Lost Lambs’ currently has 3.89/5 stars on goodreads.com, and Cash has earned a place in my heart as a novelist gifted with celebrating the dysfunction all around us.

Happy reading,

Kelly
