State Treasurer Roby Smith is encouraging Iowans to check Great Iowa Treasure Hunt to see if a loved one currently has money or a forgotten safe deposit box held in safekeeping with the Treasurer’s Office.

“At the time of National Daughters Day and National Sons Day, I’m encouraging everyone to have them check GreatIowaTreasureHunt.gov to see if they are among the one in seven Iowans who have something in safekeeping,” said Treasurer Smith. “They might find uncashed checks, money from forgotten digital payment services and more. It’s easy and free to search your name on GreatIowaTreasureHunt.gov, so tell your loved ones to visit our website to see if they have missing money!”

Some examples of ‘Daughters’ and ‘Sons’ who have money to claim in Great Iowa Treasure Hunt are:

  • Farmers Daughter Catering – Boone
  • Cunningham & Daughters LTD – Polk City
  • Kyhlie Daughters – Montrose
  • Franks and Sons Lumber Corp. - Clinton
  • Nelson and Sons Plumbing - Kalona
