This round, Maple 1 is up for a challenge, literally. They are working in central Ohio, just outside of Coshocton, at Camp Echoing Hills. The challenge charged to Maple 1 is to clear an area of forest, create a handicap accessible path, remove the current challenge course and install new elements. They have been on their project for two days and have made significant progress in the clearing phase.
Camp Echoing Hills is a faith-based summer camp for people with special needs. The camp has many amenities and activities including a challenge course. The challenge course is currently at the edge of the property, boxed in with cabins and no room for expansion.
Camp Echoing Hills also runs traveling day camps. This program is called Camp in Motion, and the team has the opportunity to travel with and be a part of the camp. Due to space in the camp van and the demanding nature of the challenge course work, only two team members are able to go each time there is a day camp.
Coincidentally, there are five day camps and each team member gets to go for a day. Maple 1 is looking forward continuing to help the sponsor, the community and working with the residents as well as campers.
