Keep Iowa Beautiful invites Iowans to join the Great American Cleanup and an estimated 3 million volunteers across the nation by removing litter from public areas during Pick-Up Iowa from April 15th, 2023 through July 31st, 2023. Pick-Up Iowa creates focused efforts to clean up trash along Iowa's roadsides, neighborhoods, streets, school grounds, parks, forests, and streams.

Upper Iowa University (UIU) and Hawkeye Community College (Hawkeye) are partnering to create a unique pathway with an Associate-Baccalaureate Accelerated Nursing Program. This dual enrollment program allows nursing students the opportunity to complete their associate degree in nursing through Hawkeye and get a head start on their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) through UIU during the summer semesters.

The Iowa Bankers Association presented one of five Athlete Achievement Awards to Girls' High School 3A Basketball Player Addison Phillips, of Benton Community High School in Van Horne. The awards were given at the High School Girls State Tournament in Des Moines. One student from each class was awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the IBA to the college of their choice.
