We are honored to announce that Better Together has been selected for a 2025 Community Service Award from Paws on Your Heart Pet Rescue Support.

When we first heard about this grant, the first thing that caught our eye was its mission: to give back to the community. Last summer, BT launched a pilot TNR program, where BT sponsored a dozen community cats spay/neuter surgeries and vaccines. Since then, we have been hopeful to continue this program and we are delighted that because of this grant, we can!

Paws has awarded Better Together $500, which will allow us to sponsor ten spay/neuter surgeries at Iowa Humane Alliance for stray and feral community cats. And, because we wholeheartedly believe in this mission, BT is matching this, allowing a total of 20 community cats to be altered at no cost to their caretakers.

THE DETAILS:
-Community cats must be within city limits of any town within Benton County
-Cats must be part of a community that is cared for & returned to the same colony after surgery
-Cats must be strays (no owned pets)
-Caretakers must humanely trap, transport and pick up approved cats
-An application must be completed and returned to Better Together. Approvals will be sent via email. Once an approval is received, Better Together will help coordinate their surgeries with IHA
-Email us at Adopt@BetterTogetherRescue.org to request an application

We want to thanks Paws for their extreme generosity. Rescue work takes a village and we look forward to working with various community members to help get this extremely beneficial project completed.
