Friday, July 26th-- Clean Laundry has announced the Grand Opening of its 8th store nationwide, located off Highway 1 in Iowa City. This will be the first Clean Laundry store in the Iowa City market.

The owners of the new Iowa City location are excited to offer the community a comfortable, safe, and always open laundromat where they can wash and dry laundry very quickly. “Customers will be able to wash and dry their clothes in less than 1-hour,” says Jose Mejia, one of the Iowa City store owners, “Our washing machines spin at a high speed to extract much of the water from the laundry, allowing drying times to be much quicker for our customers.”

“A lot of thought goes into the design of our laundromats to ensure we can reduce humidity and keep the store cool and comfortable even during the extreme heat of summer.”, says Ethan Akin, co-founder of Clean Laundry.

Ethan founded Clean Laundry with his father, Phil and opened their first store in 2014 and their second in 2015; both located in Waterloo. They quickly began dreaming of creating a larger impact throughout the country. Through a relationship with Clickstop, Inc. CEO Tim Guenther, a blueprint to fulfilling the dream was identified. According to Phil, “We realized there was an opportunity to utilize Clickstop’s purchasing, warehousing, shipping, IT, and marketing services to help us grow so much faster.”

In 2018, Clean Laundry was acquired by Clickstop, Inc. Since the acquisition, Clean Laundry has experienced a rapid expansion with 8 new store openings in multiple U.S. states.

By the end of August, two additional locations are expected to open; one in Des Moines and another in Cedar Rapids. New Clean Laundry stores are underway in Liberty, MO, and a second store in Kissimmee, FL expected to open Fall 2019.
