Vinton Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) Grants Awarded to area Businesses

Nathan's Mile, Brooke Kruckenberg and Ashley Hesson  The Vinton Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) Grant program, which receives 75% of the funds generated from the Hotel/Motel tax, has announced the organizations that will receive the 2022 funding. The HOT Grant offers financial support to local organizations for community events, cultural and recreational programming, tourism, and various other projects. Organizations that qualify as 501 non-profit organizations or governmental equivalent 170(c)(1) may submit applications for the grant.

Great News!  Fresh Conversations will restart Monday, January 30th at the 4th Street Diner.  What is Fresh Conversations? Itis a free nutrition education program designed to support healthy aging and independence. Each month, Iowans aged 60 and older gather in communities across Iowa to discuss current nutrition and health topics, taste low-cost healthy recipes, and discover new ways to stay active and independent.

Secretary Naig Encourages Iowans to Apply for 2023 Specialty Crop Block Grants

Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig announced today that the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship is accepting applications for the 2023 Specialty Crop Block Grant Program through March 10.The program, which is designed to support projects that enhance the competitiveness of specialty crops grown in Iowa by increasing demand, yields or awareness, is administered by the Department with funding from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Services (AMS).

New Casey's location to open Thursday, January 12
