The wind blew in the Vikings favor in the first half of their game against Marion. With a strong south wind at their backs, the Vikings scored twice in the first half. Senior Alex Lyons scored his first career soccer goal; Lasse Heddinger also scored for the Vikes.
But in the second half, the wind blew the ball Marion's way. The Indians scored early in the second half, then tied the game on a penalty kick with 7:19 left.
Goalie Logan Davis made a diving save in front of Marion's Trevor Moyer with 8 seconds left in regulation. The teams did not change goals for the sudden death overtime period, and the Indians ended the game with their third goal.
The Vikings host West Delaware Tuesday.
