This was not our best outing; usually we score well on this course. We did improve on the second round by shooting a 197 after an opening 214. We had a lot of putts the first round; Erin Randall had 15 the second nine for low. Cara Hach had 17 each nine and was the most consistent. Erin Randall received a 10th place medal. We were only six strokes from Newton on a day when we didn’t shoot well.
I was pleased that each girl’s focus was strong for all 18 holes. With limited opportunities to play 18 hole meets, this is important going into tournaments to have that experience. This will be the format at Regionals May 20 in Newton. I feel our team has the opportunity to be very competitive at Regionals if we play to our strengths and stay focused. This is a team with a lot of talent and a desire to do well.
