On Tuesday, the boys golf team turned in its best performance of the year. The7 scored a season best 160, to defeat Independence who shot 164. The meet took place in Vinton at the Vinton Country Club. The temperature was warm and the wind died down soon after the meet started to make for a great round of golf.
The Vikings had many golfers playing Tuesday and many of them turned in their personal bests. Daniel Ervin was the medalist shooting a season best 36. Grant Noren also turned in his competition best score of 40 on Tuesday. Daniel Janssen shot 41 and both Dylan Rippel and Tyler Stueck carded 43. Drew Pearson carded a 49.
The JV squad also won their meet shooting 177 to defeat Independence JV who shot 203. Tayler Dinderman turned in his best score of 43 this year to lead the squad. Austin Bohnsack carded a 44 and both Austin Carolus and Brandon Geiger turned in scores of 45. Chandler Noe carded a 47 and Max Griffith turned in a competition best score of 51.
The Vikings also had several other players playing in the meet. The Vikings have really made strides to become more consistent and really performed well as a team. Other player scores were:
