Sports : Frostbuster to include five classes of race cars April 7

Five IMCA divisions will see action on Sunday, April 7, in Benton County Speedway’s Frostbuster special.

IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds race for $1,000 to win in their 2013 Fast Shafts All-Star Invita­tional ballot qualifier.

IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars run for $500 to win, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods for $400 and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for $250. Mach-1 Sport Compacts are also on the card at Vinton.

Pit gates and the grandstand both open at 3 p.m. Hot laps are at 4 p.m. and racing starts at 4:30 p.m. More information is available from promoter Mick Trier at 515 201-5526.

The regular point season starts April 14 at Vinton.

Modifieds, Stock Cars, Hobby Stocks and Northern SportMods all run at Frostbusters April 3 at Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, April 4 at the Iowa State Fairgrounds Speedway in Des Moines, April 5 at Marshalltown Speedway and April 6 at Boone Speedway.
