Sports : Area Golfers place in competition

The Cedar Rapids Junior Optimist Golf tourney was held on Monday, July 23rd, at Ellis Golf Course. Due to extreme heat conditions the tourney was taken from an 18 hole event to a 9 hole event. In the Boys 13-14 division Tyler Stueck placed 1st out of 25 boys with a 3 over 39. In the girls 15-18 division Erin Randall placed 2nd out of 6 girls with a 43. In the girls 13-14 division Lauren Tandy placed 4th out of 6 girls with a 59. On Sunday, July 22nd, Tyler Stueck played in the Junior City Amateur tourney at Twin Pines in Cedar Rapids. Tyler placed 2nd in the Boys 14-15 age division with a 6 over 78 for the 18 hole tourney.
