Viking pitcher Luke Moen struggled early, as walks and an error helped Hudson jump to a 4-0 lead on the Vinton-Shellsburg baseball field Wednesday evening.
But the sophomore settled down to pitch four scoreless innings and the Viking offense came alive in an 8-run third. The Vikings scored six more in the last inning of play. A single by Darren Charlier drove in a run to end the game by the 10-run rule in the bottom of the fifth, 14-4.
The win improves the Vikings' record to 14-9 heading into today's double-header at home vs. Solon. See complete stats HERE.
