Sports : VS boys golf team wins at South Hills, takes third at Lake McBride

The Vinton-Shellsburg boys golf team competed April 19, and April 23, coming home with one first place and one third place finish. Thursday April 19th at South Hills Hudson 162 V-S 176 Union 186 South Tama 191 VS Individuals Daniel Ervin 40 ( Runner up Medalist) Dylan Rippel 42 Seth Inman 46 Trevor Brown 48 Drew Pearson 49 Daniel Janssen 50 Monday April 23 at Lake McBride Anamosa 149 Central Dewitt 163 V-S 170 Solon 176 Individuals Dylan Rippel, Seth Inman, Daniel Janssen 41 Trevor Brown, Drew Pearson 47 Daniel Ervin 53 Medalist Connyr Lewis 35 Anamosa Runner Up Nico Costa 36 Anamosa We shot our lowest total of the year with 3 guys all turning in 41's. We just need that 4th score to drop into the 160's and really be competative. My hat goes off to Anamosa, who shot amazing golf. Their players thought they broke the school record for 9 holes.
