Sports : Battling injuries to goalies, Vikettes lose to CCA, Columbus

The Vinton-Shellsburg girls soccer team, facing injuries to two goalies, lost Varsity 10-0, to Clear Creek Amana on Friday. The Vikette JV team lost 2-0. "Mattie Walker stepped in and played keeper for us after injuries to both Chelsea Brown and Erin Spangler, who usually play keeper," said Coach Alana Svenson. Monday night vs. Waterloo Columbus, the varsity lost 10-0 and JV lost 2-0. Erin Spangler played keeper. The next game is Friday at 4:30 vs Marion at home.
