Sports : Metro League VS football players recognized

The VS Metro team competes with others in the Cedar Rapids area.

The V-S players from the Metro youth football league toss footballs to the spectators Friday.

At fourth, fifth and sixth grade, their coaches and fathers are teaching them the fundamentals of football and even some of the same formations and plays they may learn as high school players who wear the black and gold of Vinton-Shellsburg.

On Friday, the players were introduced to the crowd at halftime of the varsity game. They tossed small footballs to the specators.
