Bitter cold temperatures and blizzards didn't slow them down. Altered workouts and lost pool time due to a pandemic couldn't either. Nor did having to face some of the toughest competition in the State in a single-class sport. On Saturday, the Stormin' Vikings overcame all of these obstacles as they punched their ticket to the State meet in four events at the District Swim Meet in Dubuque.

On the day the team set 23 new personal best times and broke 5 school records. The team finished a strong 5th, well behind 6th ranked District Champion Linn-Mar but ahead of Cedar Rapids Kennedy, Dubuque Senior and Waterloo consolidated.

State qualifiers were the 200 Medley Relay of Bradyn Schlief, Carter Kirtz, Isaac Allsup and Ian Allsup - 19th seed; Carter Kirtz in the 200 Individual Medley (24th) and the 100 Breast (6th); and Isaac Allsup in the 100 Back (23rd). All four of these times were team records as was the 400 Free Relay swum by the same four. Carter Kirtz's breastroke swim earned him the District Championship.

Point scorers were:

Medley Relay - (3rd) Team Record 1:41.80
