Senior Night: VS girls celebrate years of playing together

Vikette seniors and their parents received recognition for their years of commitment to the Vinton-Shellsburg girls basketball program.

Since they were students at Tilford Middle School, the girls have been playing together. A photo on a display set up outside the gym shows a team that includes all of the 2011 seniors at a tournament for 8th graders in 2006, with coach Deb Hanneman. Each senior also had a few of her individual photos on display; many of them included basketballs in their senior photos.

The girls defeated Union, 35-28.

Love them all-what a great relationship they have! <br /> However, was very disappointed at the Senior nite at the school when the parents weren\'t presented with the girls. I know how upset the parents were-thinking the girls felt the same! Whose decision was that? Would like an answer!!!! Thank you for your coverage! <br /> Nancy Hammar
