Sports : Kiwanis Boomtown 5K Run/Walk Saturday, August 24

The Vinton Kiwanis will hold the Boomtown 5K on Saturday, August 24 with registration beginning at 8:00 a.m.

The Kiwanis will be making a $10 donation with every registration to the Operation Backpack program which helps student that might need a little bit of help with nutritional needs while they are home on the weekends.

The 5K race will start and finish on 2nd Ave. east of the courthouse, beginning at 9:00 a.m. The course for the 5K will turn around at Cedar Ridge Drive. Registration for the race is $20.

There will be a 1 Mile Family Fun Run stretch for individuals or families to participate in together walking or running turning around at the pool. Registration is $20.00 per person or Family Registration for the 1 Mile Family Run is $50.00 per family for 3 or more members and can be found here.

The deadline to register online is August 22.
