Tuesday, June 4, two teams of golfers represented Vinton-Shellsburg in the State Co-ed Golf Tournament. This tournament is played in an alternate shot format with the girls teeing from the even holes, and the boys teeing from the odd holes. Lillie Lamont was paired with Broc Shaw and Carli Lang was paired with Jace Rake.

There were 65 class 1A teams competing with a lot of 2019 high school State qualifiers participating. Large schools class 2A played in Boone at Cedar Pointe Golf Club. It is a relaxed event meant for the participants to play the game in a unique format and to enjoy themselves.

The team of Lamont/Shaw shot 87 through 18 holes and placed 22nd. The team of Lang/Rake shot 113 and placed 62nd. Both teams had fun, used teamwork and represented Vinton-Shellsburg well. This is the final event of the 2019 Iowa high school golf season.

(Williamsburg was the only other WaMaC school who participated.)
