3 Wrestlers from Vinton-Shellsburg represented the school at the IHSAA State Wrestling Championship

This trip to Iowa's State Wrestling Tournament found three of Vinton Shellsburg's top wrestlers fighting for the medals.

On his first trip to the state competition, Brock Radeke was a state qualifier.

His brother Luke Radeke (138) made his third trip to the state tournament and brought home 5th place.

Scott Betterton is the senior in the group and brought home a 3rd place finish in Iowa's Class 2A Iowa State Wrestling Tournament.

Betterton won his consolation-semifinals match at 152 pounds by fall in 5:53 over West Delaware’s Mitchel Mangold. In the third-place match, Betterton won by a 6-4 decision over Sergeant Bluff-Luton’s Easton Graff.

Vinton-Shellburg Schools congratulated the young men on achievements in a post that said "As State Wrestling comes to an end our VS community commends our wrestlers for their hard work and dedication."

Congratulations from all of us!
