For three quarters, the Vinton-Shellsburg girls basketball team played evenly with the Marion Indians.

But for one quarter, the Vikettes totally dominated the Indians.

Leading 11-10 at the end of the first quarter, the Vikettes held the Indians to only six points in the second quarter as they built a 26-16 lead. The home team doubled their score in the second half, and maintained the lead throughout the game, winning 52-39 .

Seniors Paige Kreutner and Allison Emrich accounted for half of the Vikettes' points. Kreutnerk the guard, had 14, while Emrich had 12 and also blocked several shots from her position as center.

After losing their first two games of the season, the Vikettes have now won four in a row.
