Sports : VSU Swimming at home

Another great night - always fun to swim at home! VSU won all but 1 event and handily won the team competition. The girls all had good times - at or below personal bests. Emily Levis dropped 10 seconds off her season's best in the 500 freestyle. Lexi Goodell and Amanda Cardenas also swam a season best in the 100 breaststroke. Geordyn Webster put down some blazing times in the 60 & 100 freestyle, I'm excited to see where she can get by the end of the season. Clarissa Carolan continued her dominance of the IM and 100 backstroke. Some of our newcomers are expanding their repertoire in new events too - Abby Morarie and Zoe Mohr both swam events they'd never done before and did very well! It takes guts to attack a new stroke or distance, and they really stepped up. Arabella Shepard did what Arabella Shepard does - swam 3 times within 4 events and came away with 3 wins (to add to a 4th win earlier in the meet). She always does what is asked without complaint. She is a solid go-to in any event that we need strong showing. Back in action Tuesday Sept 25 @ Grinnell.
