Sports : Golfers get final rounds in before winter weather arrives

Area golfers went to the course on Monday, despite the chilly, windy weather.

Playing golf in nasty weather is better than not playing at all, said one local golfer Monday.

Monday was not a great day for golf, either the weather or the results, said one of several players who wore jackets, caps with ear covers and other warm apparel on Monday.

But, he said, it's much better than not playing golf at all.

With snow in other parts of Iowa, a few groups of golf enthusiasts played a round on Monday, despite the chill and the strong winds which made the weather feel worse and complicated their driving game.
