Sports : Hall of Fame: VS to honor more athletes from the past during Friday Homecoming game

The Vinton-Shellsburg Viking/Vikette Hall of Fame (which also includes athletes from Garrison and Shellsburg before those schools merged with Vinton) will honor more members on Friday, continuing a long-standing homecoming tradition. ROBERT FISCHER – 1973 DUSTIN SCHIRM – 2006 PHILLIP MILLER – 2008 ELIZABETH HILL – 2008 There will be a reception for the four at the Vinton Country Club  following the game. More information about each athlete's accomplishments in high school and the years following will be shared during the induction ceremony at halftime of the Homecoming football game, which begins at 7 p.m. There will be light snacks and a cash bar at the reception.
