Sports : Vikettes finish 4th at W Delaware golf tourney

The V-S Vikettes golf team shot a team score of 207 to finish fourth at the West Delaware tournament at Pin Oaks Golf Course on Monday. Dyersville Beckman               246 CC-Amana                              248   Medalist: Anna Jensen, Wahlert             40 Runner up: Taylor Thede                          44   V-S Individuals: Brandy Gerber                        49 Lillie Lamont                          51 Rachel Tandy                          52 Lauren Murray                        55 non counters:  Carli Lang, Abbye Hendryx   We had some highs and lows with our rounds tonight.  Brandi Gerber just missed earning a medal by one stroke.  Lillie Lamont had a birdie and low putts with 15.  Freshman Lauren Murray was again a counter for varsity and shot a solid round for us.  The girls know they can improve their team score and they will.  Last year we had played five meets when we competed in this annual tourney; this year only two due to postponements and cancellations.  It makes a difference.  Our record is now 7 wins, 3 losses. V-S competes at Tama/Toledo Country Club tomorrow against South Tama and Marion.  Thursday we host Center Point-Urbana at the Vinton Country Club.  Monday, April 30 we travel to Center Point's Rolling Hills Golf Course for the WaMaC West divisional tourney.
