VINTON – Nine feature wins and bonus points from a pair of track titles paved the way for Scott Hogan’s career first IMCA Modified regional crown. The veteran driver from Vinton topped standings at both his hometown Benton County Speedway and 34 Raceway in West Burlington. Bonus points equaling average weekly car counts at each of the two tracks were added to his point total for the regular season, which ended Sept. 26. As a result, Hogan paced 700-plus drivers in the ButlerBuilt North Central Region with 1,196 points, 12 points ahead of runnerup and former national champion Jared Siefert of Luxemburg, Wis. Hogan was fifth in national standings for the division, behind Zane DeVilbiss of Farmington, N.M. (1,238), Keith White of Little River Academy, Texas (1,235), David Murray Jr. of Oberlin, Kan. (1,234), and Tyler Iverson of Albion, Neb. (1,197). Point standings for all IMCA divisions became official at noon today. The North Central Region in cludes sanctioned tracks in Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin. Hogan will receive his regional and local track championship awards and point fund checks during the national IMCA banquet on Nov. 27 in Lincoln, Neb. His IMCA career totals include 55 feature wins and eight track championships.
