Sports : Vikings win District team title as several qualify for State Meet

The Vinton-Shellsburg boys track team came home from Waverly with the District Championship banner and plans to prepare for next week's State Track Meet. "It was a great night for the Vikings," says Coach Aric Chvala. "We have preached all year that our depth is what makes us a good team and it certainly showed tonight. Our kids performed extremely well. I'm excited for the chance they have given themselves next week to show what they can do." VSHS students will send off the team with a pep rally on Tuesday.
