Sports : Races rescheduled: Vinton Frostbuster set for April 10

VINTON, Iowa – There will still be an IMCA Frostbuster Week to start the 2016 race season.

The last three of those specials will be held next week, however.

Friday’s special at Marshalltown Speedway has been canceled, as was the Thursday event at Benton County Speedway in Vinton, due to rain.

Boone Speedway will still host a sanctioned show on Saturday, April 2, paying $1,000 to win in the Fast-Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying feature; the complete purse for the Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks is to be determined this afternoon.

IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional and Allstar Performance State, but no local track points will be given.

Rescheduled Frostbust­ers are now Friday, April 8 at Mar­shalltown; Satur­day, April 9 at Boone; and Sunday, April 10 at Vinton.

One thousand dollar point funds in each division will be paid based on results from the March 30 show at Southern Iowa Speedway and April 8-10 events.

Ken Schrader will race a Modified at Boone this Saturday.

Boone opens the pit gates at 2 p.m. and the grand­stand at 3 p.m. Hot laps start at 4 p.m. and rac­ing at 5 p.m. Gates open at 4 p.m., the grandstand opens at 5 p.m., hot laps are at 6:15 p.m. and racing be­gins at 7 p.m. at Mar­shalltown.

Racing starts at 5 p.m. at Vinton on April 10.

Drivers in all four Frostbuster divisions can catch another weekend show, the special rescheduled to Sunday, April 3 at Hancock County Speedway in Britt. That event also totes a $1,000 to win, Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying feature for the Modifieds.
