Sports : Vikings 7-6 on baseball season; Boisen leads pitchers with .81 ERA

Zach Boisen leads Viking pitchers with a .81 ERA and a 3-0 win-loss record.

The Vinton-Shellsburg baseball team is now 7-6 heading into tonight’s double-header at Solon. The Vikings swept Center Point-Urbana on Monday but lost two at Dyersville Beckman on Wednesday.

Junior pitcher Zach Boisen has compiled a 3-0 record for the Vikings. He has an ERA of .81. Boisen allowed just three hits in his win over CPU on Monday. He and catcher Aaron Henderson have the Vikings' only two home runs of the season.
