The Vikings advanced to the District golf event with a 3rd place finish at Sectionals.
The Vikings played Friday at Pin Oak Links in Manchester at sectionals trying to advance to district play for the second consecutive year. The Vikings placed third shooting 316 and will advance to districts on Wednesday at the Amana Colonies Golf Course.
Daniel Janssen led the way shooting 76 and placing fifth as an individual. Tyler Stueck, Austin Bohnsack and Brandan Geiger all came in at 80 for the Vikings. Bryce Shaw carded a 83 and Mike DeLong had a 93.
West Delaware won the meet with a 299. Other places were: 2nd Central Dewitt 306, 3rd Vinton-Shellsburg 316, 4th Anamosa 338, 5th Marion 341, 6th Center Point-Urbana 372, 7th Union 378, 8th Maquoketa 425.
West Delaware, Central Dewitt, and the Vikings will be joined by Mount Vernon and Washington to compete Wednesday at Amana Golf Course for a chance to go to the state golf meet.
