Juniors Lauren and Kaiti shot well on this course in this weather and both earned All Conference recognition for their efforts. Freshmen Rachel Tandy and Brandi Gerber both improved their scores at Amana from earlier in the season by quite a few strokes. I was pleased with the elimination of penalty strokes and overall better putting. Rachel had only 16 putts on the back nine, and she missed by one stroke earning a conference medal. I was pleased with each girl’s effort on this challenging course; they did not let the course beat them.
Thursday we will play at Airport National near Cedar Rapids in the CR Prairie Invitational with a noon start time, and Saturday we will play at Tama-Toledo Country Club in our third 18 hole invitational of the week. Start time Saturday is 8:30 a.m.
