Since 1925, American Legion Baseball has contributed to the development of good sportsmanship and good citizenship while providing wholesome recreation for the nation's youth.

In Iowa, players between the ages of 13 and 19 are divided into two categories, Senior and Junior. Seniors are primarily 18 or 19 but younger players who have shown they can play with the Seniors are included.

Qualifying Senior teams may participate in the regional tournament, with a chance to advance to the American Legion Baseball World Series, in Shelby, NC.
