During the month of October, many local youth bowlers teamed up with a parent to participate in the 49th Annual Family Doubles tournament at Berry's Lanes. This year we had great participation and were able to qualify bowlers in all of the categories, except one. The family doubles tournament is a team competition that allows the bowlers to have some flexibility when they can bowl their three games as long as they have them completed before October 19th. Youth bowlers compete against other bowlers in their age group. This is a great opportunity for the youth bowlers to bowl with their parent while having some fun.

The Family Doubles is divided into four different categories along with four age groups in each category. The following family teams have successfully advanced to the district level. The District Family Double competition will be held on December 6th & 7th at Lancer Lanes in Cedar Rapids. Depending on the team bowls and how they finish against the other bowlers in their respective age groups, they could advance to the State Finals. The State Finals will be held on January 10th & 11th in Marshalltown. Family Doubles advancing to the District Level are as follows: Father/Son Team
