Sports : VPRD deadlines for Adult League volleyball, PP &K, adult lap swim

The Vinton Parks and Recreation announces some upcoming deadlines: Adult Volleyball League - Final Call! Registrations are currently being accepted for the 2013-14 Adult Volleyball League with four divisions available: Mens, Coed, Women's Upper, Women's Lower. The deposit required is $20 and must be included with a registration form no later than Thursday, September 19th. Play will tentatively begin the week of October 6th. NFL Punt, Pass & Kick Youth ages 6-15 are invited to come out to the V/S High School Football Field to participate in the annual NFL Punt, Pass & Kick. This event will begin at 9 AM on Saturday, September 21, there is no cost to participate and both boys and girls are welcome. Registration forms be downloaded and completed at vprdzone.com and then submitted to the Vinton Parks & Recreation Department office by Friday, September 20. Participants may also register at nflppk.com. No cleats, football or turf shoes are allowed and birthdate verification must be brought to the competition. Adult Lap Swim VPRD will once again be holding its fall Adult Lap Swim program in the mornings at the Braille School indoor pool. There are a variety of dates available in September, Octoboer, November and December. Registrations are taken on a per-month basis. Flyers with more information, program dates and costs are available online at vprdzone.com or at the Vinton Recreation Center. Swim times will be from 6:10 AM - 7:30 AM and will begin on September 23.
